CanGames is a three-day long annual game convention in Ottawa, Ontario on the May long weekend. This community-led convention is filled with board games, miniature games, roleplaying games, and more!
If this is your first game convention, welcome! Our trained team of volunteers is happy to help guide you to having a weekend of fun. We do our best to make it a welcoming and safe space for everyone, from young gamers to the seasoned vets.
Pick your Class!
There are many different ways to attend the convention.
Player
Attendees who just want to play games! You just need to buy a badge, and you may also want to pre-register for games using our registration system. You can do this online and everything will be ready for you when you arrive at the convention. We end online badge sales and pre-registrations on May 10, 2026. You can purchase badges and register for games at the door on May 15-18, 2026.
Game Master
Attendees who want to run games at the show need to submit their games. Note that you still need to purchase a badge if you want to play in other games. You also get a GM voucher for every day that you run a game which can be used at the vendor hall, for merch, or at the bar.
Volunteer
Players who spend a bit of time helping us administer the convention. By volunteering for 4 hours during the convention, you get a free day pass in appreciation. Volunteering 8 hours (two shifts) during the convention gets you a free weekend badge!
Vendor
We have several options for vendors who want to sell wares at the convention, from purchasing a booth for the weekend to selling their homemade game at the table they run it at.
